The workshop takes place at the studio at 33 rue de Tamas, in Oyonnax (01100)

During this welding workshop you will learn the fundamental basics of welding, namely:

  • safety rules
  • proper posture
  • setting your machine to the right amperage
  • welding techniques
  • welding metal ends of different thicknesses

Equipment is provided (gloves, jackets, safety shoes, ...)

You can also bring your own welding machine to make it easier to get comfortable with it when you are on your own.

We will also establish a project which will be determined according to your choice of welding method and the number of days you have chosen.

Hours: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm / 1:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Creative Workshop Rates

  • 1-Day Workshop (Beginner): €310 incl. tax Learning the basics and getting started with the equipment.
  • 2-Day Workshop (Occasional Furniture): €590 incl. tax Creation of a side table or nightstand (model agreed upon together).
  • 3-Day Workshop (Furniture Piece): €840 incl. tax Creation of a custom entryway console (model agreed upon together).

What is included

  • Metal supplies: The steel required for the fabrication of your project is included in the workshop price.
  • Guidance: Technical supervision throughout the creation process.
  • Your creation: You leave with the object you have made.

Options and Supplements

  • Private Lesson Option: +€69 incl. tax To benefit from an instructor dedicated exclusively to your project.
  • Gas Fee (TIG and/or MIG Welding): +€50 incl. tax Fixed supplement for gas consumption, valid for the entire duration of the workshop.

Can I bring my welding machine?

Yes, you can bring your welding machine; it is even recommended so you can be more comfortable at home afterwards.

Which days of the week can I do my training?

I am a middle school teacher, so it is possible to do your welding training:

- on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during school terms.

- and all week during school holidays.

Can I have the trainer to myself during my training?

Yes, for an additional total of €69 including tax.

What are the hours?

The hours are 9:00 AM–12:00 PM in the morning and 1:30 PM–5:00 PM in the afternoon (6.5 hours of training per day).

Is this welding training eligible for the CPF account?

No, unfortunately, this training is not eligible.

Can I do my training with a friend?

Yes, absolutely; you can even have up to 3 people and each complete your welding training on the same day.

MIG (Metal Inert Gas) Welding
MIG welding is a fast and easy-to-master method, ideal for beginners. It uses a continuously fed wire with an inert gas to shield the weld pool. This process enables clean and efficient welds on steel, stainless steel, or aluminum. Widely used in the automotive industry, it offers high productivity and a clean finish. It is an excellent gateway to discovering welding.

TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) Welding
TIG welding is a high-precision technique, ideal for fine and detailed work. It uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode and manually added filler metal. Thanks to an inert gas, typically argon, it ensures a clean weld without spatter. It is perfect for metals such as stainless steel or aluminum. This process requires more skill but provides high-quality aesthetic results.

Arc Welding (Stick/Shielded Metal Arc)

Arc welding uses a coated electrode that melts to join parts while producing its own protective gas. It is robust, versatile, and works even outdoors or on rusty metal. Ideal for repair work or on job sites, it is a simple and economical method. Perfect for DIY enthusiasts or those who want to learn to weld without complex equipment. It provides a solid foundation for getting started.

Experience a special moment with Fabien Supersax and enjoy personalized guidance to create a unique piece!

To start, Fabien will welcome you with coffee and delicious croissants so you can take the time to tour his workshop. You will discover his welding and boilermaking tools. Then, Fabien will talk to you about arc, MIG, and TIG welding to show you what can be achieved.

He will also explain the safety rules you need to know and follow. He usually speaks with participants by phone before the workshop to reiterate basic instructions such as wearing hiking boots, a sweater, and jeans without holes, avoiding wool, and opting for cotton instead. He will provide ear, eye, and hand safety equipment on-site.

He will present numerous pre-cut pieces of metal and then explain how the welding machine works. He will teach you about the machine's intensity settings before giving you a demonstration. You will create your own under his expert eye, so he can guide you and offer advice. Depending on your skill level, Fabien will also introduce you to flat welds, fillet welds, and vertical welds. There is no limit to the number of welds: you will do as many as possible during the 4-hour workshop!

Before you leave, Fabien will give you many tips on buying and maintaining a welding machine so you know what to look for. You will leave ready to weld and practice to become a true metalwork expert!
